
The Easter season in Ibusa took on a cultural dimension as Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie, the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, and his beloved family attended the premiere and official launch of the historical film, “Umejei: The Prince of Isu.” This cinematic work delves into the rich history of Ibusa town, offering insights into its origins and significant contributions.
Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie presided over the auspicious event alongside His Royal Majesty Obi Prof. Louis Chelunor Nwoboshi, the Obuzor of Igbuzo. In his address, the Chairman emphasized the importance of the film, urging all sons and daughters of Ibusa to lend their support to this historical filmmaking endeavor. He highlighted its potential to inform and educate future generations about the emergence and enduring legacy of the Igbuzo community.
The Traditional Ruler of Ibusa who also attended the event alongside his Palace Chiefs (Obuzor in Council) also followed the project keenly as he community commended the Organisers, Anioma History Film and Theatre Academy (AHFATA) for the work they put in.
The premiere was graced by a distinguished array of attendees, including His Eminence, Chief Celestine Okafor (the Ikwele Ibusa), Dr. Austin Obidi (the Nshi-weze), Comrade Austin Eloka Ajufo (the Secretary to the Local Government), Architect Ifeanyi Onwordi (a Palace Chief), Onowu Emma Oshia, Mr. Emmanuel Amatokwu (Kwasa), numerous Community stakeholders, political appointees, and other notable personalities.
