Delta State Servicom organizes capacity building workshop for officers

Servicom officers in the Delta State Civil Service have been charged to perform their responsibilities in the implementation of policies and programmes of government for the overall improvement of service delivery in the State.

Declaring the capacity building workshop open for Servicom officers in Asaba, the Secretary to the Delta State Government, Dr Kingsley Emu maintained that Servicom officers have a responsibility of taking the process in their offices and x-ray them with the view to correct the anomalies going on in their various MDAs.

Noting that they are very important in their various offices, the SSG encouraged the officers to build a Servicom charter that will address the issue of time management, speed and ease of doing government business as it affects total policy management and efficiency.

He advised the participants to maintain a holistic knowledge of the lessons learned by transforming their attitude and building skills that will help them deliver on Servicom.

Earlier, the Head of Service, Delta State, Dr Mrs Mininim Oseji, who also participated in the seminar, disclosed that the theme of the workshop, “Improving service delivery in Delta State” was quite timely as she had pledged to his Excellency, the Governor and the people of Delta State to motivate all public servants to brace up for new reforms that would promote transparency, accountability and quality service delivery.

She advised the Nodal officers to participate actively in the seminar, as the lessons learned would assist them to play their role in motivating officers in their various MDAs for improved service delivery, efficiency and productivity in the State Civil Service. 

In his welcome address, the Senior Policy Adviser to the Delta State Government on Labour Relations and Servicom, Rt. Honourable Funkekeme Solomon explained that service delivery was key to delivering the MORE Agenda for the advancement and development of Delta State. 

According to him, “as the eye of the government your services must be delivered to align with the MORE Agenda of the State government” to meet the needs of citizens through prompt and efficient procedures.
