Managers in organizations in both private and public sectors of the Nigeria economy have been charged to downsize on conferences and go into implementation by way of evaluating training programs through feedback mechanisms.
The Head of Service of Delta State Dr. Mininim Oseji gave the charge when members of the Nigerian institute of management paid her a courtesy call in her office at Asaba, the State Capital.
Dr. Oseji who referred to them as ‘’ First among Equals’’ in the area of management, encouraged them to always evaluate the type of training programs they have had in the past to see areas where there are shortfalls and make improvements.
Stressing that online training and in-house training should be encouraged to address the training gaps and needs in the civil service, the Head of Service expressed optimism that such trainings would be successful as they would be scaled up from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to the entire Delta State.
Speaking earlier, the chairman of the Association, Mr. Solomon Aduraosi said that the institute wishes to partner with the Head of service office in a bid to further improve on best management practices.
While congratulating the Head of service on her appointment, Mr. Solomon promised that their institution will continue to contribute to and support professionals among women by creating avenues for women professionals to come together to discuss issues that affect them.
In a similar development, the Head of Service also played host to the Association of Justices of Peace, Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union and Mazik Foundation for Consumers Rights which is a Human Rights Group that focuses on Consumer Rights Advocacy.
