The Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji has advised civil servants in the State to go into farming as it is the only alternative endeavor they can engage in while still in service.
She gave the advice during an interactive session with the functioning Permanent Secretary and Directors in the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources as well as the Heads of their agencies in the conference hall of the Office of the Head of Service in Asaba.
The Head of Service stated that investing in Agriculture will make life very easy for them at retirement since the calm and tranquility that comes from farming helps one to commune with nature.
Maintaining that civil servants only need guidance, mentoring and training in farming, she encouraged them to exploit agriculture to its optimum use to achieve success, especially on the days they do not come to work as a result of the palliative policy of the State Government.
She requested the management staff of the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources to sensitize civil servants in the state on how to engage in farming activities using the template of the Live and Own a Farm (LOAF) project and solicited investors in agriculture to provide free training for civil servants who intend to use their products.
