
The vibrant town of Issele-Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State, came alive as dignitaries from across the state gathered for the official commissioning of the newly completed Issele-Uku Modern Market. The ceremony was led by Her Excellency, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, wife of the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori.
She was joined by the Executive Chairman of Aniocha North LGA, Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye, His Excellency Chief Benjamin Elue, former Deputy Governor of Delta State; Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives; Chief Mrs. Nkem Okwuofu (Agwuwanyi – Mother of Governors); Hon. Engr. Emeke Nwanbu; Hon. Commissioner Patrick Egwunyenga (OUR MATTER); Hon. Commissioner Ifeanyi Esuoza (AGENDA); Special Adviser to the Governor on special duties, Comrade Chuks Nicholas Ojei; and the Royal Father of the Day, His Royal Majesty Obi Nduka, the Obi of Issele-Uku. Numerous other community leaders and stakeholders from Aniocha North were also in attendance.
During her address, Her Excellency expressed joy and gratitude for the overwhelming turnout. She offered prayers for peace, unity, growth, and prosperity for the people of Aniocha North and Delta State. Remarking on the enthusiastic crowd, she noted that “there is no need for campaign Aniocha North is already for APC come 2027.” She promised to convey the community’s support and the success of the project to her husband, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Deaconess Oborevwori also commended Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye for his exemplary leadership and the transformative developments he has brought to the local government, describing them as uncommon and impactful.
Also speaking at the event, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu lauded the local government chairman’s capacity and dedication in delivering the developmental mandate of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. He emphasized that the new market will significantly benefit not only Aniocha North but also residents from Aniocha-Oshimili and surrounding areas, especially with the support of both the state and federal governments.
The commissioning of the Issele-Uku Modern Market marks a significant milestone in local economic development and infrastructure improvement in Delta State.
