Delta HoS pledges support for women development and capacity building

Women in Delta state have been advised to always encourage other women through sensitization on the need to train, mentor and empower others. The Head of Service of Delta State, Dr. Mininim Oseji gave the advice when the United Nations Women Gender Equality and Women Empowerment Coordinator Mechanism Platform paid her a courtesy visit in Asaba.

Dr Oseji who identified with their objectives and ideals of advancing collaboration amongst stakeholders in community development and women /girls’ advancement, urged them to always follow up on their activities by monitoring and evaluating the result of their activities to ascertain the impact on the citizens.

The Head of Service who promised to participate in whatever program they might have in lifting people out of poverty, encouraged them to engage in training and mentoring and ensure there is evidence that the training is worth-while.

She recommended that online and in-house capacity building programmes be introduced, while reports on the result of activities should always be written.

In a similar development, the Hos also played host to Asaba Reading Club Members in her office and she promised to partner with them in ensuring that all civil servants and Deltans become readers as reading helps to fertilize ideas.

Others who paid courtesy Visits to the Hos were the Non-academic Staff Union of Education and Associated Institutions, Credit Direct Limited, and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Oshimili South chapter, which is an umbrella body that oversees the activities of the Pentecostal churches in Nigeria.
