Delta HoS inaugurates civil service agricultural project committee

A Committee that would develop an Action Plan to oversee the implementation of Agricultural Projects by Civil Servants in the State has been inaugurated.

Addressing the Chairman and Members of the “Civil Service Agricultural Project Committee,” the Delta State Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji stated that it was necessary to constitute the Committee to oversee and encourage Civil Servants to engage in Agriculture and to find the best strategies to implement Agricultural programmes that is are in line with the” M.O.R.E. AGENDA” of Governor Oborevwori’s Administration.

Dr. Oseji charged Members of the Committee to collaborate and cooperate with relevant partners to leverage on resources, expertise and support for Agricultural projects.

Those selected to constitute the Five – Man Committee include:

Mr. Maxwell Ause -Permanent Secretary (HoS) -Chairman

Mr Kingsley Olumukoro – functioning Permanent Secretary (Directorate of Establishment and Pensions) – Member.

Mrs. Obianuju Osadebe – functioning Permanent Secretary (Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources) – Member

Hon. Paul Okpue (Industrial Agriculturist and Chief Facilitator) – Member.

Mr. Michael Okocha – Director of Training (Directorate of Establishment and Pensions) – Secretary.

Their Terms of Reference include:

1. Project Development

2. Project Implementation

3. Identification of Challenges and Solutions

4. Collaboration with Stakeholders and

5. Reporting and Evaluation.

In a related development, the Chief Executive Officer of Afri- tropic and Agro- allied services Limited, Miss Eloimoboere Eniyekpemi assured the Head of Service that her Company was ready to partner with the Civil Service Agricultural Project by providing training, mentorship and inputs, such as Seeds and Fertilizers to accelerate the commencement of the project.

She promised that the Company would continue to collaborate with the Office of the Head of Service by providing In-house Training on Homestead Farming, establishment of Greenhouses and Drip Irrigation that will benefit the people, economy and environment.
