Delta HOS advocates for application of Knowledge gained from training in Job performance

Civil Servants in Delta State have been charged to make deliberate efforts in the application of knowledge acquired from training on their jobs, as this would translate into efficient and effective service delivery in the state.

The Head of Service of Delta State, Dr (Mrs) Mininim Oseji gave the Charge at the opening ceremony of a capacity building workshop organized by the Directorate of Government House and Protocol in collaboration with A U. Bismarck and Associates at Government House Press Center, Asaba.

Dr Oseji who disclosed that she was delighted to see that every category of staff has been captured in the training program, stressed that the training should be able to motivate them to add value to themselves and their jobs, adding that participants should be able to evaluate themselves at the end of the training in order to assess the measurable impact it has on them.

Urging participants to be committed to, and be more intentional in the acquisition of knowledge, the Head of Service emphasized on the need for in-house and online capacity building training programmes to be incorporated into the training schedule as this would reduce paper work and be cost effective to the government.

Earlier in his welcome address, the permanent Secretary, Government House Affairs, expressed gratitude to the state Governor, Right Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori for his unwavering commitment and support for Human Capital Development.

Commending the Head of Service for being present at the ceremony, Mr udi emphasized that the training and retraining of civil servants in the state was critical as human resources were the most valuable resources in any organization.

Disclosing that about 400 members of staff of Government House were being trained, the permanent Secretary explained that staff have been grouped into various categories with their Facilitators to ensure that the impact of the training would be maximized.

The Workshop was officially declared open by the Head of Service of Delta State.

Other top government functionaries present at the ceremony were the Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Governor Office and Protocol, Mr Anthony Nwokolobia and Mr Anino Tetsola.
