In his usual proactive approach to leadership, the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie, on Friday hosted a strategic security meeting at the Conference Room of the Executive Complex, Council Secretariat, Akwukwu-Igbo.
The session brought together traditional rulers from across the LGA, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and heads of various security agencies operating within Oshimili North. It was a gathering that reflected unity of purpose, as royal fathers and security chiefs sat side by side to deliberate on pressing matters affecting the peace and safety of the people.
At the heart of the discussions was the importance of regular intelligence sharing and updates from security formations, as well as the need for a stronger community-security collaboration. Another key highlight of the engagement was the preparation to give a befitting reception to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State, who is expected to visit Oshimili North in the coming days.
Hon. Esewezie emphasized that security is the bedrock of development, stressing that without peace, progress cannot be sustained. He expressed gratitude to the traditional rulers for their continued support and for playing vital roles as custodians of community peace, while also commending the security agencies for their sacrifices in safeguarding lives and property.
The meeting ended with a shared commitment among all stakeholders to deepen cooperation, strengthen vigilance, and continue devising measures to maintain the prevailing atmosphere of peace and stability across Oshimili North Local Government Area.
