Hopes for improved connectivity and accelerated development in Oshimili North are set to receive a major boost as Governor Sheriff Oborevwori prepares to flag off the construction of the 11.7km Ugbolu–Akwukwu-Igbo road. The long-awaited project, seen as a vital link between Ugbolu and the council headquarters in Akwukwu-Igbo, is expected to ease movement, open up economic opportunities, and transform the social landscape of the area.
The Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie, has therefore called on leaders, stakeholders, and residents to turn out en masse in Ugbolu on Tuesday to welcome the Governor and demonstrate their solidarity.
Hon. Esewezie noted that the project is of strategic importance to Oshimili North and appealed for a massive turnout to demonstrate unity and appreciation. According to him, a strong presence would not only encourage the Governor but also motivate him to bring more development initiatives to the LGA.

“This road is a long-awaited project, and the presence of our people in large numbers will send a strong message of unity and appreciation. It will also encourage His Excellency to do more for Oshimili North,” Esewezie stated.
Adding his voice, the House Member representing Oshimili North Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Barr. Frank Esenwah, stressed the need for leaders and members of the party to sustain grassroots mobilization. He urged them to sensitize new voters, especially those who recently attained voting age, on the importance of voter registration and active participation in governance.
The session also featured goodwill messages, with Dr. Austin Izagbo offering prayers for the success of both the road project and the party. Stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to unity, discipline, and effective grassroots engagement as the foundation for sustainable development and political progress in Oshimili North.
The meeting, which was presided over by the Oshimili North APC Chairman, Hon. Austin Nnabuife, ended with a renewed sense of optimism and determination to consolidate gains for both the community and the party in the months ahead.
