The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), The Truth Chapel, is set to hold a Sensitization Seminar on Drug Abuse and Prostitution aimed at educating secondary school students on the dangers and consequences of these social vices.

The seminar is part of the Chapel’s social responsibility initiatives designed to promote moral uprightness, sound judgment, and healthy living among young people, especially students at the secondary school level.

According to the organizers, the programme seeks to equip students with the right information and awareness to help them make better life choices and resist negative peer influences.

The sensitization seminar is scheduled to take place as follows:

Date: Wednesday, 15th October 2025
Venue: Westend Mixed Secondary School, Asaba

Date: Friday, 17th October 2025
Venue: Omu Boys Secondary School, Ibusa

Time: 11:00 a.m. daily

The NUJ Truth Chapel emphasizes that drug abuse and prostitution remain serious threats to the moral and social development of youths. Hence, this seminar is intended to raise awareness, provide guidance, and inspire behavioural change.

“A prostitute is a dangerous trap; a promiscuous woman is as dangerous as falling into a narrow well.” — Proverbs 23:27–28
“Drug abuse is nothing but a continuous downward spiral of replenishing fake high to be satisfied temporarily.”

The Chapel calls on school authorities, parents, guardians, and all stakeholders in the education and media sectors to support the fight against drug abuse and prostitution.

Say No to Drug Abuse and Prostitution!
Together, we can build a responsible and drug-free generation.
