Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, for sustaining peace and stability across the state through the impactful implementation of the M.O.R.E Agenda.
The commendation followed a successful Community Peace Education Workshop held at Odogun Hall, Orerokpe, with the theme: “The Role of Dialogue in Embracing and Sustaining Peace in the Community.” The event organized by the, Office Of The Special Adviser To The Governor On Peace Building and Conflict Resolution brought together leaders, community stakeholders, Youths and peace advocates for training on conflict prevention, dialogue techniques, and community cohesion strategies.
Speaking after the event, Amb. Onyedikachi Michael Odogwu, Project Director of the Delta Peace WAKA Project and Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development, emphasized the state government’s inclusive approach to peacebuilding.

“Governor Oborevwori’s administration has created an environment where peace is not only preached but practiced,” Odogwu said. “Through the Delta State Peace Building and Conflict Resolution Office, the M.O.R.E Agenda is reaching grassroots communities, making peace real and sustainable.”
The initiative also praised the leadership of Sir (Chief) Edwin Uzor JP, KSC, MPA, CIArb (UK), Special Adviser to the Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, for championing proactive community peace education and supporting youth-led efforts.
Interactive sessions during the workshop focused on practical conflict resolution, the importance of empathy in dialogue, and the need for young people to serve as mediators and peace ambassadors in their communities.
Odogwu concluded by calling on youths to take ownership of peace in their neighborhoods:
“Peace is not passive—it requires action, dialogue, and responsibility. Young people must rise as protectors of unity and builders of hope for our future.”
The Delta Peace WAKA Project reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the state’s peace and development priorities, while empowering youth to lead from the front lines of positive change.
