Oseji charges heads of MDAs on exemplary leadership

The Delta State Head of Service, Dr. Mininim Oseji has expressed appreciation to members of the College of Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Extra-Ministerial Departments in the State Civil Service for their support and cooperation at her appointment and subsequent swearing in by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Dr. Oseji who during her inaugural meeting with the members of the College recently, charged them to be exemplary in their leadership roles in the implementation of government policies and programmes in the State Civil Service.

She urged them to ensure that civil servants are familiar with financial regulations and build their capacity in financial management through training and retraining of staff.

Dr. Oseji further reminded the accounting officers of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA’s) of the repeated calls for civil service reform and repositioning of the machinery of government, saying that this would be achieved with commitment and acquisition of practical knowledge.

To achieve success in piloting the affairs of the State Civil Service, she promised to reintroduce programmes such as “Breakfast Dialogue” with the HOS, “The Bureaucrat” publication, and organized 6 monthly meetings with retired Heads of Service.
