ACOMIN gets commendation for impacting PHCs in Delta State

The Delta State Primary Healthcare Development Agency has commended a Civil Society Organization on Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition (ACOMIN) for its pivotal role in ensuring that Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) deliver effective healthcare services to the people at the grassroots.

Director of Planning, Research and Statistics in the Agency, Dr. Charles Eboka, made the commendation when the ACOMIN team led by the State Chairman, Pastor Greg Sifo, accompanied by the State Programme  Officer, Mr. Austin Uwede, paid an advocacy visit to the Agency in Asaba.

Eboka described ACOMIN as a dependable partner in improving the status of the healthcare facilities in the State, adding that the intervention of ACOMIN had continued to yield positive results, particularly in the area of ownership of PHCs by the community.

He used the opportunity to inform the ACOMIN team that the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency in collaboration with the World Bank was vigorously carrying out revitalization of 150 PHCs in the State.

Dr. Eboka also disclosed that the final assessment before more healthcare facilities can be enrolled into the Basic Healthcare Scheme had been completed, stressing that the revitalization was on-going simultaneously in the State.

Earlier, the State Chairman of ACOMIN, Pastor Greg Sifo stated that the concern of the organization was to ensure that PHCs were revitalized for quality service delivery.

The State Programme Officer of ACOMIN, Mr. Austin Uwede emphasized the importance of replacing the solar panel at Adobu PHC in Patani Local Government Area and Ugborhen PHC in Sapele Local Government Area.
