As part of his relentless efforts to promote community engagement and combat social vices within, Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development and Community Peace and Youth Ambassador, Amb Onyedikachi Odogwu has re- emphasized the crucial role of local vigilantes in securing our communities.
He made this assertion during an interactive session with officers of the Delta State Vigilantes Group, Atuma-Iga Command, Amb Odogwu stressed the need for capacity building and equipping local vigilantes with cutting-edge tools to enhance their effectiveness in maintaining community safety.
Amb Odogwu praised the vigilantes’ tireless efforts and emphasized the importance of increased synergy and commitment to their duties. He also listened attentively to their requests and demands, assuring them of his unwavering support and commitment to channeling their concerns to the relevant authorities.
This interactive session is in line with the M.O.R.E Agenda of His Excellency, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, The Executive Governor of Delta State, and Puta Ife More Agenda Of Chairman Of Oshimili North, Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie which prioritizes community development and security.
Mr Sam Nwaokpani, Chairman of the Atuma-Iga Vigilante Group, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Amb Odogwu for the interactive session and his contributions. He also acknowledged the royal support of *His Royal Majesty, Obi Chukwuka Daniel Ogbudo JP, Obi of Atuma-Iga Kingdom and fatherly role and support of the Odoziani Of Atuma-Iga Kingdom, *Prof Andy Egwunyenga* while still calling for more support from good spirited individuals.
The interactive session was marked by entertainment, presentation of pledges, and a proposed capacity-building training program, which will be announced at a later date. Amb Odogwu was accompanied by some Atuma-Iga Peace Ambassadors and Volunteers.
