Powers Unchecked, Democracy in Disarray.

I strongly theorize that regardless of how enviable a Government is performing, it should have checks and balances.

A sustainable democratic system should safeguard checks and balances within its institutions. Checks ignite deliberate government policies and programmes targeted at the right audience.

Management and navigation within political leadership is more difficult than assuming  power, especially in developing climes. Hence, checks generate pointers to create, recreate, manage, sustain or discard policies that dont add value premised on the priorities and needs assessment of the electorates. Checks and balances give people the indices to make the right choice.

People oriented policies are bulletproofs that protect a system. Ideas are fired up by healthy competitors within and outside of a system. Leadership should find a way to accommodate opposing views to continually raise the stakes.

Stakeholders should expand their horizon to stop the crab mentality syndrome.

When majority of the stakeholders subscribe to a broader perspective, they will clearly observe that the class monitors highly celebrated at local government levels are cap in hand purveyors the state. The bulldozers in the states are panhandlers at the federal level, while the emperors at the federal institutions are mendicants within the international community!

What a world!
