In a proactive step toward addressing the rising mental health concerns among young Nigerians and in commemoration of the World Mental Health Day 2025, Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Youth Development Amb Onyedikachi Odogwu, recently hosted a youth-focused mental health webinar in collaboration with Neodon Innovations and a team of mental health experts.

The virtual session with the theme “Your Feelings Matter”, which drew wide participation across the state and beyond, spotlighted the urgent need for open dialogue, early intervention, and youth-centered mental health support systems. With Nigeria facing a documented increase in anxiety, depression, and drug-related challenges among youth, the event provided practical strategies for coping, healing, and thriving in a fast-changing world.
“Helping young people navigate their emotions, traumas, and social pressures is no longer optional—it is essential,” said Amb. Odogwu. “This initiative is part of our broader mission to create a more resilient, emotionally aware generation.”

The session offered insights on digital stress, identity struggles, peer influence, and resilience building. Participants engaged in real-time Q&A, giveaways breakout discussions, and shared testimonials of personal mental health journeys.
The collaboration with Neodon Innovations —known for tech-driven social solutions and other partners signaled a modern, inclusive approach to youth wellness, aligning with the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E agenda.
He also confirmed plans for follow-up programs across Delta State.
