A host of prominent personalities gathered in Ibusa, Delta State, to honour the life and legacy of Chief Raphael Odiaka Ezeoba, father of the former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Dele Joseph Ezeoba (Rtd.), as he was laid to rest in a solemn but dignified burial ceremony.

The event drew notable figures from across Delta State and beyond, reflecting the high esteem in which the late patriarch was held.
Leading the delegation of political dignitaries was His Excellency Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, who was ably represented by His Excellency Chief Sir Monday Onyeme, Deputy Governor of Delta State, who paid tribute to Chief Ezeoba’s impactful life and the values he instilled in his children, particularly Vice Admiral Ezeoba, whose service to the nation he praised.
Also in attendance was the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, who described the late Chief Ezeoba as “a committed father and community pillar whose legacy will endure.”
An esteemed political leader Chief James Onanefe Ibori, and other top government officials were similarly present to commiserate with the Ezeoba family.
Traditional institutions were not left out, as Ikwele of Ibusa, His Eminence Chief Celestine Okafor, Chief Amaechi Nwannie and the revered Asagba of Asaba, HRM Obi Professor Epiphany Azinge SAN, graced the ceremony, offering prayers and royal blessings to the bereaved family while emphasizing the importance of preserving Chief Ezeoba’s values of integrity, discipline, and service.
The burial ceremony featured heartfelt tributes, cultural rites, and a service that celebrated the late Chief Ezeoba’s long life, community contributions, and the success of his children.


The Ezeoba family expressed gratitude to all who attended, noting that the massive turnout was a testament to their father’s enduring influence and goodwill.
Chief Raphael Odiaka Ezeoba is survived by children, grandchildren, and relatives who say they will continue to uphold his legacy of humility, service, and faith.
